Why we're tackling climate change?
Our planet has warmed by 1ºC over the last century. Climate change is wreaking havoc on our wildlife and habitats, and is putting people’s lives and homes at risk.
We know climate change is happening, and we know that it is caused by our actions. The Earth's atmosphere is warming, faster than it probably ever has. In some cases weather patterns, climates and natural environments are changing quicker than wildlife or people can adapt.
So many of the world's biggest challenges, from poverty to wildlife extinction, are made more difficult by climate change. And things will get worse if we do nothing.
But we can do something about it.
What does it mean to be climate positive?
If you think of carbon neutral as ending up with net zero carbon emissions, climate positive (or carbon negative) means you are removing additional carbon from the atmosphere, whether you put it in or not.
You may say we are dreamers, but we're not the only ones.
To limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius by 2050 – and meet the commitment made in the United Nations’ Paris Agreement on climate change – we all have to reduce carbon dioxide emissions rapidly. We can't do it alone but together achieving this ambitious target is possible.
Definitions of scope 1, 2 and 3
Scope 1includes direct emissions from owned or controlled sources, e.g. company facilities, company cars.
Scope 2 includes indirect emissions from the generation of purchased electricity, steam, heating and cooling consumed by the reporting company.
Scope 3 includes all other indirect emissions that occur in a company’s value chain, e.g. purchased goods and services, waste generation and transportation.
Our approach
According to the Greenhouse Gas Protocol and validated by the SBTI, we calculate emissions dividing them into three scopes - Scopes 1,2 and 3. By taking this approach, we have a comprehensive 'baseline' analysis giving us our starting point and showing us the most effective way to reduce our future footprints.
For example; By reducing our air freight (435g*) shipping instead by sea (5g*) or rail (35g*), we can dramatically reduce existing emissions further in 2021.
Simultaneously, we are working with our freight partners to find ways to ship our products using fewer emissions in their fuels, like Maersk. They are working on ships powered by carbon-neutral e-methanol.

Out 2030 commitment
We commit to reduce our future carbon emissions and capture our historical carbon footprint since we were founded in 2011. This will be achieved by collaborating with WWF and through forest projects that will tackle climate change and halt habitat loss, preserve biodiversity, and improve local livelihoods.
We are committed to becoming climate positive by 2030 by reducing more greenhouse gas emissions than our value chain emits while still growing the dbramante1928 business. To achieve this, we will:
1. Promote sustainable choices by designing products that are recyclable, recycled or up-cycled from existing materials that would otherwise have ended up in landfills, or worse still, the ocean.
2. Strive towards 100% renewable energy, phase out fossil fuels and continually improve energy efficiency in our supply chain, and enable our customers to do the same through the products and services we offer.
